Hidden in My Heart privacy policy

Last updated October 22, 2026

Hidden in My Heart is a Chrome extension that pauses and blurs media on YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and Reddit after a limit you set, until you recite a Bible verse. This policy explains what it handles. In short: your data stays in your browser, and the developer never receives any of it.

What is stored, and where

Everything below is saved in Chrome's local extension storage on your device. It is not synced and never sent to the developer.

What the extension reads on websites

On the four supported sites, the extension notices when a video has played for a few seconds and whether the tab is in front, so it can count videos and minutes. It does not read, store or send what you watch, the page content, your browsing history or your messages. It does nothing on any other website.

What leaves your device

With the built-in World English Bible, nothing.

If you choose another translation, the extension asks Chrome for permission and then contacts that publisher's service with your own key:

The verse text is downloaded again about every 14 days.

What we don't do

Deleting your data

Use Reset all progress and streaks in the extension's settings, or remove the extension from Chrome, which deletes everything it stored.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the date above will change too. Questions: jackfuhuang@gmail.com.
